i don't know if you actually watch one tree hill or you just found this song.. but this song is from one tree hill and it describes what is happening in the show. i suggest you watch the show if you want to fully understand it but basically she is saying that he views her as perfect and she doesn't deserve it.

This writer is a person who lives two lives. One in which she pleases another and one where she is completely herself. The person has changed her and she feels like she has to be that person in order to make the spouse love her. She didn't promise him that she would be completely perfect, she didn't promise that she would be nice everyday. Sometimes in a relationship, the partner has high expectations, resulting in the person losing themself in the process because of those expectations. She is telling him that those expectations he has of her are not right. She wants him to accept the person she is. The halo represents her behavior. When she is around him, she tries to act perfect to please him but he doesn't see that. He only sees the mistakes she has made and not the efforts she made. She is trying to talk to him by saying she told him over and over that she has made mistakes and she will continue to make them. All she wants is his love and for him to accept her love. She is saying that when he looks at her, he sees something that is not even her. He doesn't know her and she is trying to make him understand that.

Well the singer is saying that even though she might have promised great things or something, she is not perfect, she has done bad things, and as it says in the first verse, she doesn't deserve to sit like a queen on a pedestal, and only in her lovers eyes is she perfect. [Verses 1, 2, and 3]
The singer is saying that only in front of the one she loves is she a good person [as in angel, halo], and even though she's not perfect she still wants to love him. [the chorus']
This song is basically saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" that there are many different sides to a person.
