okay so my softball team is going to florida in about a week. i'm due for my period sometime between this week and next week, i really don't want to get it for that because i don't wear tampons and i won't be able to go the beach and pool and stuff with the other girls and i just won't have a good time :[ so my question is, is there any POSSIBLE way for me to either make my period come faster or postpone it until after? and is it also true that when your in the water you don't bleed because i heard one of my friends say that. thanks soo much!
P.S. im not gonna go on birthcontrol because it makes you gain weight and my mom would suspect i'm pregnant or something, which im not.
Additional info, added Wednesday June 25 2008, 11:49 pm: also, does like masturbating or whatever help it come quicker? or slower? or anythingg.. I don't get my period that often (like once every 3 months) and it used to be longer time in between (i used to get it like once every 5 months) and its very random. And when i asked my doctor about it she said it was due to the fact that i started to exersize more, and i was stressed. So maybe if you excersize- or get stressed out about somethiong- you could delay it but i really doubt it since you've never really been delayed before. GOOD LUCK!! Sorry....
Also about the whole tampons...i never used to wear them, and i JUST started (like literally 3 days ago- and i LOVE them! seriosuly idkk how i did anything without the. So can i suggest trying them again? not only is it 1000 times easier deal with your period but it won't stop you on the beach or at the pool with your friends. LM answered Wednesday June 25 2008, 10:15 pm: You're a bit misinformed about birth control; it doesn't always cause weight gain and it wouldn't regulate your period this quickly anyways.
There isn't much you can do besides maybe exercise a bit more than usual, since extra physical activity, as well as stress, can delay a period.
Otherwise you'll be stuck changing your pad a lot to be comfortable. Your period doesn't actually stop when you're in the water, and even if it did, what do you think happens once you get out? You'd have to use tampons more likely than not; there's "slim fit" tampons if you decide to give them a try. [ LM's advice column | Ask LM A Question ]
