I have had a betta fish for four months now...he's very healthy- colorful and a very fast swimmer. I feed him flake betta food (by Omega Sea), and occasionally freeze dried blood worms (also by the same company)- he is very healthy now, but i was wondering, is it better to introduce more variety into his diet? If so, what foods are good? Or is his diet already complete? Thanks
BettaMin™ Floating Flake Food and Delecta™ Freeze Dried Blood Worms both made by Tetra™ and available in most pet stores and Wal-Mart Stores. You can also feed the fish a few live Black Worms three days a week and occasionally some live or frozen brine shrimp. A little bit of live food is very good, but too much seems to cause problems.

It sure couldn't hurt introducing him to new foods but it's not necessary if he is getting all the nutrition he needs. Don't fret though, these fish don't have a long life expectancy. However, with a proper diet, good filtration and warm water, these fellas can live longer than the normal 2 to 3 years. [ ChevyIINova's advice column | Ask ChevyIINova A Question ]
