what is an easy way to organize clothing? i'm interested in buying new storage to put my clothing in. i have a ton. some i like to hang, some fold. i just have too much and can never put it all away or find what i want! 16/f

I'm actually really really anal about my closet.
I have to have all the same exact hangers, and a couple of times I actaully had to buy all new hangers because I only needed a few more, but I couldn't find the ones I had before. But everything is meticulously put away. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to find anything. I have a big walk-in closet though, so this may not work for you.
I have my closet divided by tops, sweatshirts, jeans, jackets all hanging up, then I have those hanging shelves things where I keep my shorts and sweatpants, and my t-shirts like from school and stuff.
For my tops, I sort everything by color. It goes black, grey, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, tan. Then within each color set it goes spaghetti straps, thick tank tops, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, long sleeves, sweaters. Then after all my tops I have my sweatshirts from like sports and school and misc. stuff that we had teamwear for. And they are sorted by when I got them. Then I have my jeans. First I sort them by wash. Then within the washes by length. Then I have my jackets/ dressy tops that I never wear. Then in my hanging shelves thing I have my shorts and stuff and all my t-shirts that I pretty much just use for working out and sleeping in.
It seems like a lot written out...and it was a lot of work when I was first setting it up. But now it's just a little extra time to sort things out when I do laundry. It's well worth it to me to know exactly where everything is when I need to find it. I hope I helped somewhat.
But those hanging shelf things, I don't know what their called but you can get them at like target or walmart or something. And they come in cute colors too mine are pink. They're really helpful. I know they have other stuff too like that like they have hanging shoe racks and other things. I would go check them out because you could find something you really need and they aren't that expensive.
