mosquito bites

Question Posted Thursday June 12 2008, 3:27 am

are there any ways to make mosquito bites go away faster? or to at least make the swelling go down.

another thing too, i always end up getting scars from the bites. i don't scratch them and they don't scab, but when they go away i end up with a dark spot where the bite used to be. why does that happen?

Wash the bite with soap and water as soon as possible. Rubbing soap directly onto the bite may help reduce the itching.
Baking soda and water - make a past and apply it to the bites.
Hold an ice cube or ice pack on the bite.
Rubbing alcohol often relieves the itch and swelling..
Calamine lotion
1% cortisone cream
Topical Anesthetics intended to relieve bug bites
