what kinds are good?

fender is a good way to go, and so is ibanez, those are some nice guitars, and i would go epiphone, not gibson. epiphones are made better (i.e. no glue spill over on the frets and what-not) and a whole lot cheaper and pretty much the exact same guitar...

Fender,Gibson & Yamaha are three good brands.....some of them might be pricy but you get what you pay for! hope i helped:)
