cigarettes/weed

Question Posted Saturday June 7 2008, 12:13 pm

I'm doing a report for school so please don't say "we can't answer this or else we will banned". I'm not planning on doing it I just need facts for my report. Is it true that cigarettes and weed fill you up therefore you're not hungry anymore?

no not at all. you might feel kind of full at first because you're ingesting something. idk about cigarettes, but weed will give you the munchies, if anything.

Xenolan answered Saturday June 7 2008, 1:59 pm:
Nicotine is a stimulant, and generally stimulants do have the effect of reducing hunger. They also have another effect in that people will often snack during the day when they aren't particularly hungry; those who smoke cigarettes will generally smoke instead of snack, so they don't consume those calories. The health benefits of eating less are far outweighed by the hazards of smoking, but I'm guessing you know that.

As the previous responder pointed out, marijuana will actually make you MORE hungry. One of the purposes of "medicinal marijuana" is to help those on strong chemotherapy to be able to eat.

Actually weed makes you hungry. That's why it has medical uses- it stimulates your appetite. And it's also why stoners get the munchies. My driving instructor used to be a cop, and tells us all stories about various stoners, haha.

Cigarettes tend to make people eat less, like when people quit they tend to gain weight from increased appetite/cravings.
