these two good guy friends of mine, i think they might like me. i mean, theyre good guys, they would be the types of guys i would choose to have a bf if i wanted one, but i dont. i also dont have any feelings for them. well theyre both flirting with me and giving me compliments. the thing is, i didnt realize it b4, which was really dumb of me. i mean, how can i not have realized that? its obvious. theyre complimenting me about my name, about my new shoes, always staring at me and then when i see them staring, they will quickly turn away, blushing. also, ill give them a compliment, and they'll blush for a second and give a very flirty response...like for example i say sumthing like "i like the name ryan(one of the guys). its like my favorite boy name." and then they'll hesitate 4 a sec, then say sumthing like, "i know why, because its MY name, thats why...c'mon admit it..." and with sum very flirty grin. they also call me more than my best friends do. and the worse thing is, theyre like best friends with each other...and if i ever decide to go out with one of them, it would be bad...and you know some boys, they're very competitive and yes, it would ruin their friendship. and yes those types of boys. really, i dont know what to do...i think they might like me.....what should i do? thank you so much if you answer this question. i would appreciate it so much....i really need help...itsz like tearing me apart...i dont know...please...thank you

unless you have feelings for them... DONT DATE THEM! nothing good will ever come out of dating someone that you don't like. and as hard as it may seem, the best thing you can do is come straight out and tell both the boys that your just not interested. Be nice about it and let them down easy, but you also dont want to make it seem like they still have a chance.

Don't date either of them. PERIOD. It would be asking for trouble and you don't need that kind of drama in your life. Make it clear to them that while they are your friend, you're never going to be that kind of friend with either of them and stick to it. When you are starting to date (and I didn't allow my daughter to date until she was 15 with just her a boy-- group dates were allowed at your age) you have three categories;
Guys I'd like to date
Guys I WILL NOT Date and
Guys I will date if the subject comes up
These two belong firmly in the WILL NOT DATE category. You don't have feelings for them you say so it should not be too difficult to not date either of them. I'm sure there are plenty of boys available that aren't those two and if there aren't don't sweat it--there will be. Keep in mind that since they are both competitive with one another you may also be a "prize" that they are competing for instead of actually liking you and that's not fair to you.
