outlet converters

Im leaving for spain and france next week and i was wondering what i need to convert the electricity so i can plug in my straightener. Do i need the whole converter? or is an adapter just fine? thanks

Hey there, you are going to need a voltage converter AND the plug adapter as well. You can get them at Radioshack, I believe.

Here's why you need both:
The voltage is different, so you have to use the converter so you don't blow up your straightener (I know a girl who blew up a hairdryer AND a camera charger...)
And the shape of the outlet is different, so you need the little outlet adapter so your straightener can plug in.

European countries usually have mains electricity of around 230 V, so if you're from the US or Japan where the mains electricity is around 120 V, you'll probably need a converter, and if you're from somewhere else you probably just need the adapter.
