Adobe flash CS3, actionscript function being funny.
Question Posted Friday May 30 2008, 10:53 pm
So I downloaded flash, and have had it for a while. I'm having a dilemma with action-script. For some reason I can use scripts related to the movie itself like the stop(); function, but i cant use functions relative to specific parts like the buttons or anything. I can't use preloaders as well.
So, what do I do? aNd why is this happening?

If you look at the time line in the frame you are in, there should be a small symbol letting you know the script was added to that frame. I've been using Flash MX 2004 for a few years now and I am sure the layouts are probably similar. My version puts a little "a" on the frame letting me know I added script to the frame. Make sure too that you are formating the script correctly. certain elements can only be applied to buttons such as onrelease. [ ChevyIINova's advice column | Ask ChevyIINova A Question ]
