Adobe flash CS3, actionscript function being funny. So I downloaded flash, and have had it for a while. I'm having a dilemma with action-script. For some reason I can use scripts related to the movie itself like the stop(); function, but i cant use functions relative to specific parts like the buttons or anything. I can't use preloaders as well.
So, what do I do? aNd why is this happening?

Not sure what you are trying to do but make sure you are in the properties for the button and not adding the script to the frame you are in. If you look at the time line in the frame you are in, there should be a small symbol letting you know the script was added to that frame. I've been using Flash MX 2004 for a few years now and I am sure the layouts are probably similar. My version puts a little "a" on the frame letting me know I added script to the frame. Make sure too that you are formating the script correctly. certain elements can only be applied to buttons such as onrelease. ]
