Lemonade

Question Posted Thursday May 29 2008, 7:58 pm

I've been really addicted to lemonade lately. For the last three weeks or so, I've been drinking 20 fl oz bottle lemonade a day....I'm totally hooked on this brand called "Calypso." They have multiple flavors, like Kiwi Lemonade, Mango Lemonade, Black Cherry Lemonade, etc.

Well, for the past few days, the lemonade has started to leave an awful sour taste in my mouth - and I'm positive it's not because there is anything wrong with the lemonade. The more I drink, the more sour it gets. I drank a whole bottle this morning and my mouth actually hurts. It's also started to upset my stomach. I can't even have a sip of it without setting my mouth off.

Could it be the acid?

I'm starting to get worried. Lemonade is my favorite food in the whole world. Does this mean that I'll never be able to enjoy lemonade again?!!!!!

I think it is the acid. Try balancing it out with water for a while and cut down on how much you drink. Lemons are really acidic and it can hurt your mouth, stomach lining, teeth, etc.

I think it would help you a lot to not drink any lemonade for a few days and then see if it still hurts as much.

people get acid sores in their mouth but usually on the sides of your tounge and they burn when they touch any acidy food or drinks. if you keep going on with it they can get pretty bad and take a while to go away. try and get addicted to a different kind of fruit like watermelon! lol

lemonade is extremely acidic. too much acid equals upset stomach. taking vitamins would help nuetralize this but it's still better if you stay away from acidy stuff for a while until your stomach feels better.

and you can enjoy lemonade but stay away from it for a while (a week maybe less) and then if you do drink it take it in smaller portions

hope you feel better
