My hair is naturally dark brown, almost black, and over the summer last year, I dyed it to a light brown. When fall came, I dyed it back to dark brown and i kept it that way until it started to get hotter outside. I like making my hair lighter when the sun comes out. But when spring came, I tried to dye it lighter again and it stayed the same. Just last week, I tried another time and still no change. if anything, it got darker. I used the right color hair dye and everything but nothing is working.
i'm really good with dying hair so i don't want to spend a bunch of money at hair salons for them to do it but why isn't it changing? is there any way I can dye it light without having to bleach it?

Generally when you dye your hair darker, its really hard to get the color out and dying it lighter usually doesn't work. You can wait for it to grow out so that your natural hair color grows back, but that may take too long. Other than that your only option is probably bleaching it.
