Character's Spine

Question Posted Monday May 19 2008, 12:43 pm

Ok today I found out it doesnt really have to be funny, which makes it a bit easier. But this is what I've got so far..

My father - a passionate politician, who travels a lot, and always gets the last word.

My mother - (i dont know much about her actually, she's an AMAZING mother, the smartest person I know, a doctor, sucks at celebrity names, extremely generous and kind,.. not stubborn, or egotistical or strict at all, always puts others first.. I don't know.. can you work with any of this?)

My brother - A 15 year-old guitar player (...and that's all I've got. Sorry :$. He's smart and decisive. He's kind of secretive and keeps to himself, he can seriously do anything he puts his mind to, he wants to become a surgeon. He listens to ALL different kinds of music. Very tidy and organized. Handsome.)

My other brother - An eleven year old genious (again, all I got,..) Very smart, straight A's, also plays guitar but not as much as my other brother, SWEETEST PERSON ON THE PLANET.. I mean he writes me emails and letters telling me he loves me and that I'm the best sister he could have wished for.. he's talkative and sympathetic. always shares his candy :P, the familys baby.

I don't know why this is so hard for me to write, I feel like it shouldnt be.. I mean they're my family and I love them, and know a lot about them.. but I just can't do it. Thanks for helping me!!

Heh, no problem. Yeah, character spines are a lot harder than people think. It's not easy to summarize a person in one sentence, people are complicated things.
You've got a really good start on your dad, not much needs to change about that one, but let's see if I can't shrink it a little...
Your father - a passionate, traveling politician who always gets the last word.
Your mother - a smart, selfless doctor who can't tell Johnny Depp from Johnny Cash.
Brother #1 - a secretive, intelligent guitarist and future surgeon who knows what he wants.
(too bad he's not 5 years older, he sounds like my type...lol...the guy I've been involved with since my freshman year is an (wait for it...) intelligent, attractive pre-med student/singer who comes off as an asshole but gives the best hugs ever.)
Brother #2 - a sympathetic, talkative brainiac, who outwardly loves his family; The Baby.
Whaddya think? If no, IM me; we'll bounce ideas off each other until we find spines that work.
-Siren =)
