young life summer camp
anyone who has ever been to a young life summer camp , i might be going this summer for the first time, i went to winter weekend but never summer camp and i am just wondering: at the dances and proms and stuff, do people actually dance? like normal grinding dancing? or do people just stand there or dance weird because i know it is lke a christian thing even though no one i know that goes to it is good it just seems like they would be scared to grind in front of the counselors and stuff. so yeah i don't care but i was just curious if people dance like they do at school dances and parties and stuff. probably not as dirty? but idk. and also do people hook up because i've heard of people making out at the camps but i think some people might thinks it's bad? like would people talk about it or do a lot of people hook up like what happens at other summer camps? thanks!

At my camp, when people hook up, all the teenagers know it, but no one talks about it openly infront of the counslers (even though most of the time they kind of suspect it).
People usually just dance silly, or don't dance at all because grinding is just out of the question when there are counselors near.

Well its pretty normal for hook ups and stuff. It's a part of life and you cant really stop them from it. But there's gonna be some kids there that feel the same way as you. And if some weird guy comes up to you and is making you feel uncomftorable just walk away and so "No Thanks.." or "ew." or something. I've been in situations at a very YOUNG age where even worse things happens but with the older kids. I'm sure you'll be fine, and sometimes the camps dont even have dances. AND you will be with a certain age group, so if you are like ten you wont be with nasty 17 year olds.

I've never gone to a christian camp, so I can't say for sure, however...
Keep in mind that the people who go to these camps are people too. Chances are, you'll see at least someone "grinding", and you'll hear about people making out and hooking up. It's what people your age do.

I went to a young life camp a few years ago and it was AMAZING!!!! Best week of my life! The dance was fun too,the kids were dancing like normal, but they toned it down a bit for the councelors. It really wasnt a big deal, it was just kinda natural. My youth group all went together and some of the kids were already in couples so they obviously hooked up, but other than that it wasnt really common, a few people did but that wasnt really what we were all thinking about. This camp is sooooo fun that we all kind of forgot about dating and boy drama. It was basically a good, wholesome experience that i will remember forever. I hope your trip goes as well as mine did!
