dont let this ex best friend say anything because there was obviously a reason u2 arnt friends anymore and she probably doesnt want you to be happy and she will do anything to get under your skin so dont let her adn ask him about it but not like u are questioning him just like you are concerned for him and if you can have a future relationship

Now, when you say "Ex-best friend".. this only makes me assume that you and this girl are no longer speaking. Therefore, it isn't her concern what your potential boyfriend and you are planning to do about your relationship.
She's probably looking for a way to sabotage your relationship-- or maybe just you. The only way to crack the truth out of this, is have them speak right in front of you. If she's so sure that he wants her, have her ask him what's up while you can see exactly what's going on between them so you can debunk this drama fest and move on.
Ex best friends are EX best friends for a reason.
