Well since you just started going out, he must like you a lot now. So think of anything that he might like, my advice would be don't go too over the top. Unless your like, throwing him a party or something. Birthday's can be pretty big. But it depends how old they're turning. Otherwisee, think of things he likes, if its food or cars or music or something, think along the lines of that, be creative you'll think of something, or bake him a cake! :D

Well. For my crushes birthday I wanted to give him something small, cheap, but shows I care. We sorta share favorite songs so I just burned him a cd of the band, and wrapped it up. I added one of those BettyCrocker warm delights, the mini ones, for something different.
Even if he didnt get you a present, its good to at least show your appreciation for him. Maybe soon enough, he will catch on! Hope this helps "]

I would wish him a happy birthday and maybe get him some candy or chocolate (hey, guys like chocolate too!)
Nothing special, but something that says that you know its his birthday. If he has that look on his face like "that's all?!" simply explain to him that this relationship is just starting out, and if he still isn't understanding point out to him that he didn't do anything for your birthday which should shut him up about his greediness.
