(thank god for people like you) p.s i am a little bit scared to hold her. if you know what is happenig and it has happened to you please tell me your story. bless you and your
family

We took it to the vet and it turns out that the bump was a tumor. =(
Is your hamster less active than usual? I don't know exactly whether the symptoms would be the same for gerbils, but mine was a little less active than normal.
How long have you had her? Usually their life expectancy is around 3 years I believe. But I wouldn't worry about losing her any time in the near near future. My gerbil still lived for about four more months after we found out.
I'm very very sorry about what you are going through right now; it seems like this pet is very close to you. I love my animals very much and its so sad to hear of someone's pet being sick.
Regardless of the tumor, you can still hold her (though I totally understand why you may be nervous too. I know I was a little scared to hold my gerbil while he was sick.) But really, you won't break her by holding her and cuddling her. Just enjoy the time you have left.
You mentioned that when it comes down to it, your hamster is the only one around? If I'm having a problem, I know that my dog is the first to know, but I'm sure there's gotta be people you can turn to for comfort. Do you want to talk about it, if there's some issue that you feel you can't discuss with loved ones?
