so a couple years ago i was on the slimfast diet i was exercising too much and wounded up in the hospital for not eating enough. now, im back on the diet because i wanna loose a couple of pounds for hawaii. right now, im not losing the weight but i thinknits cause im doing weights and such. although, if i ndont exercise for one day and i eat a piece of chocolate i find my day being ruined and i consistley eat. what can i do to stop this?? am i not eating enough? i weigh 138 and im 5'9 i wanna be 130. although i do have a lot of muscle. let me know what is going on? is my binging and eating disorder comng back?! thanks ill rate goood!!
To be completely honest with you doing weights won't make you gain a huge amount of weight. If you gain anything it'd probably be muscle(which takes time to build). If you do weights and a cardio routine of jogging, running, biking, what have you, you'll be okay since you're getting more physically active. You shouldn't be doing any extreme dieting or exercise it's not worth it in the end.
I can't tell you if you're eating enough or not. You should eat a good amount of protein (found in meats like beef, chicken, turkey), eggs, diary and peanut butter. Eating vegetables and fruits help provide vitamins and nutrients. Plus whole grains help too (which you can get from cereals like Kashi or breads that say whole grain on the label).
If you're drinking a lot of water by the way, the weight you're not losing could be water weight from water retention.
For your mindset stay positive and think healthy. Don't get caught up in the trap of feeling guilty if you don't work out one day or even eat a piece of chocolate. Sometimes the day off is necessary for our bodies to stay strong, and the piece of chocolate can help us keep sane on a diet.
sally91 answered Friday May 2 2008, 2:35 am: hey i think your starting to bindge and consistley eating because you feel guilty that you ate unhealthy and didnt exercise it off. you shouldnt feel guilty about eating unhealthy and punish yoruself for it because that will lead you straight back to your eating disorder.
so why dont when you start to bindge and eat, try and distract yourself by going for a walk, walk the dog, even walk with friends. at these times when you go to bindge you just need to keep yourself occupied so you dont think about food and you wont bindge.
your probably putting on muscle and that would prob be why your not losing any weight, why dont you try to tone your muscle instead of building muscle and use smaller weights.
