You'll find out after more experience; everyone is different, so once you have had your period for a while you'll be able to recognize the signs easily. The most obvious sign is getting cramps. Others include a change in your mood and brownish/light red discharge.
The easiest thing you can do to predict is to simply record it on your calendar if you have your period regularly [if you don't, don't worry; being irregular is common for the first few years].
Meanwhile, [if you have started your periods] make sure to carry a pad or tampon with you wherever you go, no matter what. This way, if you predict wrong (or if your period is random), then there's no penalty. It saves you so much anxiety and fear. [ keolablue's advice column | Ask keolablue A Question ]

If you want to look for signs of your menstral cycle coming check your undies for a whitish/clear discharge and check on LEGIT medical websites for more precursers ( webmd.com)
And dont forget to talk to your mom and/or docter.
Ice232 answered Tuesday April 29 2008, 1:27 am: No, just like all the hair on your body, it really just depends on what colour your hair is to start with. Most of the time pubic hair just seems like it's darker because 1) It's normally shorter due to Trimming/Shaving/Waxing and 2) A lot of the time it's seen under lower lights.
