She has been a professional singer since 1991. Most of her albums were featured only in Japan starting in '91 straight through recently. Arguably, one could say she was a professional singer/dancer before then from 1989-1991 on a Disney Channel production called Kids Incorporated.
Ironically, it was there that she would meet future co-star Scott Wolf who pretended to be younger than he actually was to get a part on this show.
You must be thinking of the Jackie Chan bomb The Tuxedo (2002) where she has a lead role. She hasn't according to her filmography appeared in any of the Rush Hour movies.
