day of silence

even though i don't think there are many gay people in ym school being harassed, should i still do the day of silence? i support it and everything but i don't want it to be pointless

any advice?

Well, if you truly support it, you should realize that the day of silence doesn't only represent the gay students at your school, but the gay community as a whole, like gays everywhere. It shouldn't really be a quantity over quality thing. Even if it's just for one person, I'm certain that person will really appreciate it. Also, don't be fooled by what happens behind closed doors. Just because you don't see something, that doesn't mean it isn't happening. Even if you think there aren't many homosexuals at your school being harassed, that doesn't mean that they aren't. Most people keep that stuff to themselves anyways. So, it's totally up to you if you should still participate or not, but if I were you I would.

if you feel like it's something that cold make a difference even to one person, and it would make you feel satisfied than do it. there is nothing wrong with helping out only a few people at a time, as long as their is one.
