What are some exercises I can do to thin out my midsection / thighs?

There are no exercises that will thin out your midsection or thighs. There are no exercises that will thin out ANY part of your body specifically.

This is an unfortunate fact, but fat spot reduction is a myth that will not die. Here is a nice article that talks about how weight loss works:

If you are not in the mood to read the whole thing, at least scroll down and read the last paragraph.

The bottom line of all this is... diet, cardio, and other general exercise is the only way to lose weight. You cannot control where this comes from, and you can crunch from here til next year and you will not target your stomach fat. You will strengthen the muscle, but thats all (the muscle does not own the fat around it).

I answer a lot of these, but its a little like trying to put out a forest fire with only a bucket lol.
