wax?

Question Posted Thursday April 10 2008, 6:38 pm

I'm a girl. I have hair on my upper lip. Most girls do, but I have black hair, and it's getting to be obnoxiously noticeable. I don't want to wax it though, because I don't want it to grow back all super-dark and thick and stubbly. That would be worse!! I don't know what to do though.. prom's coming up!

I would just bleach the hair. That way it doesn't grow back, it isn't black so its not noticeable and also it won't hurt, like waxinggg

hope i helped

Waxing is really the best way to go. It won't make your hair grow back darker or thicker or stubbly (that's what shaving will do). Waxing actually has the opposite effect; since it pulls the hair out by the root, the hair folicles become damaged and eventually stop growing. Over time, the hair actually starts to come back in thinner.

The first couple times you get a wax, you might get some small red bumps, which will go away in an hour or so. But you'll probably want to schedule your wax for a few days before prom, just to be safe!

I have the same problem. I go to get it waxed and for me it doesn't grow back darker or thicker. But if that is what your worried about then bleaching it would be a good alternative, or i know of some people who pluck their upper lip. Which sounds very painful. Good luck with your situation and have fun at prom!

i would suggest to you to bleach it (the hair). got to a salon for this becuase unless you have experience it could be very danerous. but this does not work for everyone. if you are not sure go to a salon and ask them. they have many options and will help you out with your problem.

hey

try nair.. it's easy, it's clean, and it doesn't hurt. it lasts like a good few weeks. just buy the regular bottle (no need for all the fancy waxing papers and such) and dab a little on the area (don't rub it in.) and wait until it feels tingly.. then IMMEDIATELY wash it off. don't eat / taste it either.. like when you wash your moth don't open your mouth. if you still see a little hairs left, just rub them off and they'll come off... don't leave the nair on if it's tingling for more than 2 minutes
