While you may still catch his "cold" prevention is a good idea. Encourage him to cough or sneeze into a kleenex, then throw it away and wash his hands. You should also wash your hands often, and try to avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth. Most germs are transmitted this way. Also frequently spray areas where he spends a lot of time with Lysol, and the door knobs, faucet handles, toilet. Don't share towels and washclothes, and disenfect the computer keyboard, mouse, telephone and pens before you use them--or after he does. Also, one more thing, drink plenty of water, this will keep the respiratory passages moist and able to clear the germs better.

I was raised deep southern, so we have home remedies for everything. My southern advice is to eat a lot of oranges (vitamin C) and lysol anything he's touched. ESPECIALLY, however, it's recommended that you wash your sheets in very hot water. The problem with colds this time of year is that it might actually be the flu. If you've been vacinated, it may still be the flu, since it tends to mutate. If you at all feel like you MIGHT be getting it, take a day and lay in bed with as many warm blankets ontop of you as you can. This is called sweating out the bug. It truly works, I use it every time I get sick and by the next morning I'm awesome.
Hope that helps.
