Perms

Question Posted Tuesday April 8 2008, 10:50 pm

I want to get a perm but i have naturally frizzy hair when i let it dry or blow dry it. I was wondering if getting a perm would eliminate the frizziness or make it worse.

Noo! That person is apsolutly wrong. Perms are great for frizzy hair. That's what I have. When I got my perm I was so scared, but I got a soft perm, and my hair turned out great. Now I love it. Listen to me and your hair will look amazing!

Okay here's the DL:
Perms are a process in which they use chemicals to either Semi-permenently straighten or Semi-permenently curl your hair. Since your frizz is caused by the amount of humidity in the air, a perm will NOT help. Perms are bad for any type of hair and tend to make more frizz because they dry out your hair. I'd suggest you use Tea Tree oil (found in most drug and grocery stores) or try some John Frida frizz-ease. Tea Tree oil makes your hair not only more manageable and less frizzy, but shiny, too!=) And if you really want to do good for that frizzy-mess, try to stay away from using the blow-dryer. And if you seriously need to use it, buy some heat protectant so that it won't damage your hair.
Hope I helped!
