finding IP Address

Question Posted Sunday March 30 2008, 3:24 pm

How do you find out what's your computer's IP Address and stuff? I recently bought a PSP and I need that kind of information to make it have internet capabilities.

On the PSP you should leave all of that at the default settings. Your wireless router will assign your PSP an IP address via DHCP. If you override DHCP with any IP address, even one which your router would normally give you, the Internet on your PSP won't work. Just select "easy" configuration", not "custom".

You shouldn't use it, but you might like to know that your PSP wanted an internal IP, not an external one. External IPs are given by your ISP, and they're pretty random. Internal IPs almost always start with 192. If you needed to enter an IP in your PSP(which you don't), you would probably use something like 192.168.1.103.

ip-adress.com. [it's not mispelled]

Access it on your personal computer to find out what it's IP is.
Access it through your PSP to find out the PSP's IP address.
