Itching after I shower? Sometimes when I get out of the shower I experience itching, on my legs and arms. It also happens whenever I'm finished shaving.. (I don't shave all the time.)
I have no known allergies, I don't get any redness or rash, just little itches here and there, almost like pinpricks.

You are itching because the hot water
drys out your skin. After you dry off
lotion up! Its the best time to do it.
This time of year is particularly bad.
The heat is on inside the house and that
drys you out too.
Its the same with shaving. Dry skin
combined with razor burn. Just use
that lotion while your skin is still
soft from the shower and it should
help with most of the itching. :) ]
When it comes to shaving - it's just razor burn.
Now if you get the itching and you're not shaving, I have no idea.
Worst thing to do for razor burn is use lotion. I didn't know what was going on the first time I had razor burn. By the time I got to school the itching was so unbearable that I put lotion on my legs. It burnt so much I was in tears and I had to go to the nurse. That was my first lesson on razor burn and it wasn't a fun one.
Make sure that when you shave you're using some type of shaving cream or soap. It helps to prevent razor burn.

If it's not razor burn that is causing this then I'm sorry, I don't know what else it could be if it isn't allergies.
Then again, maybe you just don't know that you're allerigic to something.
Try using a new body wash and see if the problem stops. If it does, save whatever type of body wash you've been using and note the ingredients or bring it to the doctor and see if it's possible for you to be allergic to anything in it. ]
hey
the same thing happens to me. usually when i scratch--i know this is kind of gross--but some dead skin cells come off my feet & legs especially. what happens after you scratch? if that doesn't happen to you, you just need to moisturize after you shower. also, if you take really hot showers (you're technically supposed to take warm showers) it sucks the moisture out of your skin, making it even more dry and prone to itchiness. so, try moisturizing ritually everytime you shower. if that doesn't help stop the itching, you could buy a special itch type of lotion. i remember when i used to be a little girl, i had a very dry back, and my mom would put this special type of lotion on it. if THAT doesn't help, go to a dermatologist. ]
