It varies from person to person, however most people say that getting your ear lobe pierced hurts more. This is because the ear lobe has a lot of skin that needs to be pierced through, and has a lot of nerves, while the cartilage has little skin and more bone. When I got my cartilage pierced I didn't think it hurt at all, however cartilage piercings are more likely to get infected or hurt later on.
