on and off friend

Question Posted Saturday March 29 2008, 4:34 pm

14/f
ok so i have this one friend who i've been friends with for about three years. last year we became really really close. we did everything together. but before i can finish *that* story, i have to tell you THIS story:
ok so just recently this year i became really close with my two cousins. one is scene and the other is emo. <----(you'll get it later) they both have really helped me get through some hard times. so, this year, my friend ali who has alot of emo friends invited me to her birthday party. i used to be like, really, really preppy and i was kind of afraid of emo kids. but i tried to keep and open mind and when i got to know them i discovered that they were all really amazing people who i could totally relate to. i became good friends with all of them.
so then my one friend (who is really preppy) told me that she hated my emo friends, which sucks because i am now one of them. and she is always like 'oh my gosh you're so emo now i hate emo people' and i explained to her that we're just people and we just dress and feel differently than others and then she's like 'well what happened to the old you? what happened to the person i used to know who loved gossip and shopping at hollister?' and i told her that it's just not my style anymore and that gossip was vapid and shallow and she told me 'well i like gossip. i like being vapid. i like being shallow.' and i just feel like i don't even know her anymore.
so my question is, what do i do at this point? is there any way to get her to acceot me for who i am? should i stop being her friend? i need help please respond!!
