Try the gimp editor.
Just go to google and type it in.

Also, i have PaintShopPro XI so if you have that i can easily explain it to you if you'd like. It goes for about 40 dollars at most in ebay in a new package.

Free for Windows:
Paint.net:

The GIMP (also works on Mac):

Artweaver:

Helicon:

Picasa (also works on Mac):

Irfanview:

Photobie:

Photoscape:

Photo Toolkit:

Pixia:

XnView:

Free for Mac only:
Pixen:

Seashore:

Paint.net, Artweaver, the GIMP, Pixia, Pixen, and Seashore are designed primarily to *create new* artwork.

Helicon, Photobie, Photoscape, and Photo toolkit are designed to *edit existing* artwork and photos.

Picasa, Irfanview, and XnView are designed to *view* images. They only have limited editing capability.

I recommend Paint.net for general use, the GIMP for advanced use, Pixen for Mac, Pixia for creating art, Photoscape for editing pictures, and Irfanview for viewing images.

Paint.net or Photoscape will probably enough for you.
