First of all don't think of yourself as a bloated cow.Whenever I photograph a heavier person,I had them stand about 1/4 turn to the camera lens. Not knowing what you look like it's very hard to know what to do.It also depends on what your wearing and the color, dress, pantsuit, jeans and shirt or a skirt and blouse. One other thing to know is what type of look your going after. If your not sure if you want your legs to show, then just photograph a 3/4 shot.Leave the legs completely out.A nice pair of dress slacks could also do the trick.Having a nice photo of yourself is always a welcome gift to a loved one,no matter if it's mom, dad,or grandparents. That way when you not there to visit, your around anyways.Good luck. P.S. most people visit the photo studio first to see what kind of work he does and he may give you the information your seeking, good luck-chin up and smile.
