Toning.

Question Posted Thursday March 27 2008, 8:17 pm

I'm 17 years old, 5'5", and weigh around 96 pounds. I'll go ahead and say I am pretty thin, but there are some areas that could use some muscle definition. Before I even ask my question, I am NOT looking to lose any weight. Weight loss is not a concern for me. I'm not involved in any sports, and I used to run in my free time, but haven't gotten around to doing so in about a year. I would really just like to tone up my whole body in general, especially for summer. I'm enrolled in a fitness gym that opens the first of June, so just some exercises or activities that I can do at home to give me a head start on toning would be extremely appreciated.

Start doing your abs! I think girls look really cute with abs. Not manly ugly abs like body builders, but the cute ones! If you don't have any weights around the house, get your gallon on milk, and do arm curls everyday. Push ups will help. I'm not sure about how to work you legs, try wall sits. I hope I helped!!

Make a goal for yourself. Run a certain amount everyday and up the amount weekly or even daily. My sister and I used to rip up a bunch of pieces of paper and write a workout on each and mix it up into a hat. Then pull each out and do it. For motivation do this with a friend. On a few write like water break or something and only take a break when you get to those ones. And remember to have fun with this!!
