non-married people wear rings as accessories. like wearing a necklace or bracelet or something. if they have several it probably means they just really like rings.

It could just be for fashion

My mom wears several rings, not on her ring finger, but she wears them. She likes the way they look on her hand. A lot of women like to show their personality through the rings they choose. I don't know about men. I think they just wear rings for the "bling-bling" factor, to be "cool", but if you ask me, it just looks gaudy.

There are a lot of reasons people where rings; they aren't just for married people ;].

1. Class ring from high school or college.
2. Their parents bought them a ring for birthday, Christmas, Easter, etc.
3. Friendship rings.
4. Claddagh ring [[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)] or other heritage rings.
5. Rings passed down in the family.

And that's only 5 of the many reasons.

People wear rings because rings are pretty. I wear a ring just because I like it. Some people wear promise rings- it's saying that they won't have sex until they're married. It doesn't mean anything if people have several rings.
