skin infection? disease? hives? chicken pox???

Question Posted Saturday March 22 2008, 9:39 pm

my grandma, in her 70s, who recently has not been feeling very well, have been getting itchy lumps appearing on her body, mostly on her arms and legs. they're itchy like chicken pox, but they disappear after a while and some back again sometime later after a meal. could this condition be caused by a food she may be eating? we're a chinese family so we eat lots of rice and chinese food in general. i understand that many there may not be many doctors out here, but anyone who has any suggestions or things like that, please share, because we cant get professional help until tuesday because of the easter holiday. thank you in advance:)

"they disappear after a while and COME back again sometime later..."

My dear friend,
It could be eczema or dermatitis, a simple condition that can be solved with a medicated moisturizing lotion. However I'm not a doctor and your grandmother should see a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
