Hymen and Horseback riding!

Question Posted Friday March 14 2008, 6:56 pm

I saw on one of your questions that your hymen can break when you ride horses? Is this true, and how would that happen, I have been riding for 8 years, and it has never happened before, and could it happen soon, or more then once?? I just want to know just in case I start to bleed when I ride, thanks <3

Yes, it's possible because of the constant vibration and contact of your groin to the saddle, for example. You would feel a slight pain the groin area, and if you notice some unusual spotting [blood], and you aren't on your period, it's likely that your hymen has broken. Your hymen only breaks once, since it's like an elastic material [think of a rubber band being stretched until it has snapped]. It's nothing to worry about, since it can happen sooner or later.

Any other questions, feel free to message me back. I'd be happy to help. :)
