Here is the deal. When I read catcher in the rye it was like my favorite book ever. I am a really picky reader. Here are some that I liked that you might like, just cause we both like that book. I cannot gurantee though that they will be similar in style cause I don't remember the book that well.
Yellow Stories by Don Lee [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
This is a collection of short stories, i loved the way it was written and i thought it was funny and sad.
The little Prince [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Now this one is interesting, It is supposed to be a "children's book", but it is the darkest, most mature and phylosophical children's book I've ever read. The kid is like a wise child among these shallow adults and it has a really dark and yet admireable ending.
Sleeping Beauty (no not the fairytale) [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Now, I didn't think I was going to like this book cause it is old, It takes place in like maybe the 1940's or something, that is how it's written, like dick tracy. It is really good though. It's like once i start reading it, it's hard to put it down. Now if it has the same grammer as the one I have then you're gonna be like wow, what rules were they going by, but if you are looking for content, this is a pretty hot story. This one is pretty dark too. It's a mystery novel.
another thing too is checking to see if a movie you like was a book before it was a movie. I often hear that the book is way better and more accurate than the movie.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
