SATs I am taking the SATs for the very first time on Saturday. I'm a little nervous...How long is it? I've heard so many different answers. Any advice or helpful tips from past experience?

It generally takes four hours. Remember that it's not a test to see how smart you are- it's a test to see if you know how to take tests. By that I mean if you know how to use reasoning and the process of elimination you will do fine. There's not really a way to study for it; it's just about your test taking skills. Get enough sleep, eat a good breakfast, and take some deep breaths. If you generally make good grades on tests (when you study hard for them), then you will do fine on the SAT. ]
the SAT's can be a really nervous time, but honestly dont stress! i did the whole sat prep and bought the book. it doesnt help. just go in there and do the best you can!
one suggestion, wear something comfortable! youll be sitting for a long period of time, with only small breaks. ask if your allowed water or something to drink in the room.
FOCUS! it is a timed test, and you need to finish every section. answer every question, and if you dont know the answer eliminate the ones you know arent correct.
the SAT is meant to see how much you know, and if your college ready... which sounds like you are.
it lasts around 4 hours. take advantage of collegeboard.com who administers the test. they have a lot of answers to questions your probably wondering! :] ]
i recently took the sat for the first time also.
Don't be nervous! you can take the SAT as many times as you like, so try to look at the first one as sort of a practice run.
When I took it, it lasted about 4 hours, with a few short breaks. if i remember correctly there are 10 sections (they are pretty small, about 30 minutes each) and one writing section.
Good luck & don't be nervous! i'm sure you'll do great! : ) ]
