Clubs and Bars

Question Posted Wednesday February 27 2008, 7:00 pm

I never quite understood the process of ordering/recieving/paying for a drink at a bar/club.
Do the bartenders keep seperate tabs for everyone? Can't the people order their drink, drink it, and walk away without even being noticed?

Finally a question I can answer 100% and know I'm 110% right about.

You can do it one of two ways, pay as you go or open a tab. When you open a tab, you leave a credit card so if you're stupid enough to walk out, they can still charge you.

So I guess technically you could use an inactive card and leave, but then you'd probably never be allowed in the bar again, so.

I just want to add something in case someone doesn't mention it but generally (well, hopefully) people abide by the unspoken honor system. (definition: in some schools, prisons, etc., a system whereby individuals are trusted to obey the rules, do their work, take tests, etc. without direct supervision)
