well my butt smells really bad. even like right after i take a shower its like that. i've already seen a gyno about it, and he said everything was fine. But do you think other people can smell it. me and my friends sometimes lay down on top of each other if we are like watching tv or something. so i have to put something over me to block the smell. i don't know if i'm the only one that can smell it though. plus, perfume doesn't completely cover it. and i tried putting some on everytime i smelt it, but that made me smell a little cheically from all the perfume. any idea what i can do?? can other people smell it??

I'm sure the perfume isn't doing any good for the smell and it's probably best you discontinue that method. It is good that you have gone to a doctor about this issue already but it is probably a simple hygiene issue.
First off, a shower a day may need to be upped to two showers daily--some of us just sweat more than others and that sweat lays in creases of our bodies.
Pay more attention to your bottom when washing.
Secondly, I suggest going to the store and purchasing some flushable wet wipes for after you poo. There are many different brands like Kleenex Cottonelle, Charmin Fresh Mates, and even Scott Moist Wipes. The Wal-mart off-brand kind is fairly good and has a pleasant odor to them.
After you poo, wipe with regular toilet paper like usual. Then take a wipe and wipe the area thoroughly--pay attention to the actual anal opening. Try to clean the opening as best as possible with a wipe or two (or however many you feel you need). Do NOT wipe your vagina opening with these wipes as they can cause yeast infections by disrupting the balance of good bacteria in there.
Also, make it a point to go poo at least once a day to clear out your system and not have things sitting down there waiting around. If you feel this is still not enough, you can look into purchasing some acidophilus which will promote the growth of healthy organisms in your bowels and such. You can find this at your local pharmacy, GNC, and maybe even Wal-Mart. It's best to refrigerate the capsules and take one right before you start eating a meal so that it will be pushed down before the food.

Maybe this is something that you're imagining...I'ts good that you talked to a doctor about it; but you don't say specifically that other people have commented on it. It's pretty normal to have insecurities, everyone has something that they're self-conscious about. If you really want to get to the bottom of this (NO PUN INTENDED) then make another appointment with a doctor and tell them EXACTLY what's going on. It's a tough conversation, but that's what they're there for. [ cookie8888's advice column | Ask cookie8888 A Question ]
