itchy.

Question Posted Wednesday February 20 2008, 8:45 am

okay so i always get really itchy like when im trying to go to sleep.

NO i don't have bed bugs.

and like i can't get to sleep because of it. and it really gets me annoyed so like i'll scratch really hard and like i have a bruise on my arm from scratching and all kinds of little cuts on my ankle because of it.

what the hell is the matter with me?

like my skin does not feel "dry"

when i itch it it leaves like bumps/raised lines.

how can i get this to stop.

its driving me so crazy.

where do you live? because if you live in a cold climate you might get dry skin. I would do the changing of sheets and maybe moisturize more.

The raised lines that it leave are normal reactions to being scratched :] try it on your arm, you'll see. It helps to not think about it. I know that whenever I think about itching I DO itch. Try some sort of lotion/skin cream if this doesn't work. And of course, you can always go to the doctor if you think somethings wrong with you. :] goodluck!

My dear friend,
I suggest seeing a dermatologist. It could be dermatitis or eczema, which can cause itchiness. Til then, don't take hot showers: take warm showers. Hot water dries your skin out. Actually, if you have the choice, take a bath instead of a shower because showers strip your skin of natural oils. Put lotion on every day, but not right after you've been itching. Try right after you bathe or shower. If you put it on right after you itch, your skin will just burn more.
