While in the shower, I wash my hair with regular shampoo and conditioner then use a VERY large tooth comb. (I use a Conair shower comb. I comb my hair into a part WHILE I'm still in the shower to make sure I got all of the conditioner out and to make my hair look neater when it gets curly. DO NOT comb it once you're out of the shower. That will make your hair too frizzy, even if its wet.)
I take a towel and squeeze the excess water out of my hair, this also helps create some waves. While my hair is still pretty wet I use Garnier Fructis Curl Construct mousse and begin scrunching my hair in three sections: Left, right, back. Some people like to flip their heads over and scrunch for extra volume.
I let my hair air dry and try not to touch it. If I'm in a hurry I use a blow dyer with a curl diffuser but not that many people have one of those. When my hairs dry I use John Frieda Dream Curls spray just to help set my curls in, but you don't have to use it.
