ok, so i was in psychology. and the teacher said that this lady made herself believe she was pregnant. and she even missed her periods and got bigger and stuff. like, retained water and stuff. but she wouldnt actually give birth to a child.
like, could that really happen? i mean, its really weird. and you cannot have a child without intercourse...
uisforukelele answered Friday February 15 2008, 5:03 pm: i'm in psychology too, and yes, that can happen :) i actually saw a television show about it once. a woman wanted to become pregnant so much that she believed that she was pregnant and showed signs of being pregnant. i'm not sure how an ultrasound would work out because obviously there wouldn't be a baby in there, but i have heard of stuff like that happening. alex_ABC_123 answered Friday February 15 2008, 9:09 am: She was not acctually preagnant. She just maybe wanted a baby so bad, or beleived she was acctually preagnant so much, that she just got the symptoms of being pregant.

This is how I see it:
If people can bleed from their hands and feet (Stigmata) by belief, then I'd say a woman stopping her periods and retaining fluids like that is just as possible.
