is it a myth to say that you can catch a cold from being out in the cold? or is it that the bacteria? or virus? has to be present in the air for you to contract anything?

That is a myth. Colds always come from other people. People spend more time indoors when it's cold, so they interact with each other more, and they spread more bacteria.

Its not really a myth becuase when you get cold your bodys energy goes to staying warm which weakens your immune system
You basiclly can get a cold from being in the cold. It Increases the chance of you gettin one
