i just have been going out with this guy for like a day now. and we act more like really good friends but we like each other more than that. any advice on um showing him we should act more like friends?

I agree with thelaura. You should wait for a couple more days... or weeks. Give it more time.
Befriend him first and get to know him more. Don't feel pressured because of the other boyfriend/girlfriend you see around doing those "lovey dovey" things. Just be yourself and he'll like you for who you are WHICH will make him do the first moves.

Hold his hand, give him spontaneous kisses, hug.. just show some affection. He might get the idea and return it.
