so, do ALL nail polish, no matter what kind, strenghthen your nails? or is just the kind that says its a nail strengthner? cause i use a clear sally hanson, and it dosent say it will strenthen. thanks alot!

CalamitySami answered Wednesday February 13 2008, 1:47 am: When you have a layer of nail polish on, yes it strengthens your nails, it makes your nails thicker (that is if you are buying good quality nail polish, yes sally hanson is very good polish)However, when you use nail polish remover, it breaks your nails down because of the acetone in it.
So if you are trying to strengthen your nails, don't worry so much about the nail polish as how much polish remover you are using when taking nail polish off.
Buy the polish remover that has the label "no-acetone" and that will help your nails get stronger as well.
JaLye answered Wednesday February 13 2008, 1:46 am: no, some nail polish are weak while other formulas are thicker and are made to be non chip. but they don't really harden your nails unless it's one of those that actually strengthen your nails, sort of like the nail growing formulas. nail polish is basically something to make your nails look better or prettier.
