Everyday I swim on a swim team for two hours after school. And I get cramps from swimming like all the time, but they go away. Yesterday, I had a terrible foot cramp, and well it still hasnt gone away. I don't think it's a foot cramp or not, or idk if i mite of pulled a muscle? idk. But it hurts when I put weight on it, especially towards the front of it. And we've been doing some intense workouts at swimming this week. But as for my foot, I have no idea what to do. I thought it would be gone by now. Help, please?

Sari answered Thursday February 7 2008, 7:46 pm: Any cramps can cause lasting pain which could be what you're feeling, it may just be hard to identify because of the location. Make sure you're taking a daily vitamin and tonic water (as in gin and tonic but just the tonic which is available at the grocery store) can be good for preventing cramps so try having a can of that too. It tastes a little funny but it good with a squirt of lime juice too. Also, a pain reliever like advil or tylenol should help a bit with the pain.
Remember - soda water and tonic water are not the same (I made that mistake and had an awful drink once). I hope this helps! [ Sari's advice column | Ask Sari A Question ]
