well, let me start by saying that i've never actually made myself throw up. but i have stuck objects down my throat to make myself gag. after i eat have a tendency to feel sick. in order to make myself feel better, i have to do this to myself. i would feel better if i would actually throw up- but no matter what i can't seem to actually get myself to puke. which is probably a good thing.. hah. anyhow.. about how abnormal is this process? should i do something about it? (i am not fat. i am 5''3 and 106 lbs.)

Holly22co answered Tuesday February 5 2008, 10:58 am: as long as you dont have a negative body image, or think youre fat and are trying to make yourself skinnier, then no, you dont have an eating disorder per se, you have a disorder with eating..make sense? since your not actually throwing up, and arent trying to make yourself stick-thin, you have nothing to be ashamed of. so talk to your parents about going to the doctor or a food-related therapist if nessecary. you may have a type of medical disorder or sickness, but not anorexia/bulimia nervosa. hope this helps, and good luck :) [ Holly22co's advice column | Ask Holly22co A Question ]
