I have dark brown hair, and want to dye it red,
all i'm really wondering is - what's your favorite box hair dye brand? what do you recommend?

Clairol "Natural Instincts" in Cinnaberry.
It's a wash out color, but it stays in for a good month and a half. It's beautiful and it's SAFE for your hair. I always recommend the wash-out brand because that way you will know if you like it or not.

I do not dye my hair, however, my mom does all the time, and she swears by Schwartzkopf hair dye..the only thing is that you can only purchase it at a beauty supply store or salon. Otherwise, I don't know what else to recommend, but you should definitely look for something moisturizing that also includes a conditioning treatment in the box.

i have dyed my hair red quite a few times and i have light brown hair. i like garnier nutrise(or however you spell it) the most. but first depending on how dark your hair is, if you want a light-ish red color, you should probably bleach your hair first. if you are ok with a darker red-ish brown color then you dont need to bleach your hair. it all depends on wat color you want your hair to be.
