Dogs in heat

Question Posted Wednesday January 30 2008, 12:55 am

I have a 3 year old chinese crested that has had litters before...The first week that she went into heat, my male went crazy and was trying to hump all of the time...That was like a week ago. Now, he is not interested in her, but I didn't catch them locked up...Is is possible that she got stressed out of heat? I know in humans stress plays an important factor in conception, Is this the same in dogs? Or is it possible that they locked up in their crate while I wasn't looking? This is my first litter, and am nervous that they didn't do it, I have waited for like 2 years before getting my pups and spent most of my time researching breeding before making my choice to do this, so please don't leave negative comments about breeding:) I'm just here to get some information that I can't find on the web! Thank you

No i don't think that a dog can get stressed out of heat. Yes there is a chance that you didnt catch them. But it could also be the male dog i had 2 bullterriors and they had 3 litters together but it took 2 years before they had them. Yes she went into heat but they wouldent lock for some reason. Good luck
