Spelling Bee

Question Posted Saturday January 26 2008, 7:53 am

15/F
I recently got in the finals at my school and I am a relatively good speller but I get extremely nervous and stutter a lot. Is there anyway I could relax in front of the whole school? Also, do you know any tips for spelling? Like, how to spell a word you don't know.
Thank You In Advance.

To calm down, just close your eyes and just pciture yourself in front of a mirror, alone, spelling to yourself. To remember what the word is spelled picture the word in your head and just read off the letters. For words you don't know, think of how it sounds and what the word means. Think of the prefixes and suffixes and how they change the root word. Just add it all together.
